CHALLENGES

This is a game that Air Force (1-4) very much needs to win. The Falcons have played by far the toughest schedule so far in the Mountain West going up against three ranked opponents in their first three games, losing all three by unembarrassing margins. The next five games will decide whether Air Force bowls or not. All are winnable or toss-ups at best. The last two games (@ Boise State & Utah State) might be a little tougher to win. UNLV is another of those West Coast teams that puts up a lot of points and gives up a good number as well. Good defense will be the key to the Falcons pulling this one out. Similar to New Mexico, the Rebels like to run the ball averaging 265 yards a game on the ground. The Falcons have absolutely got to avoid turning the ball over in this game to win. It’s a game Air Force should win but it won’t be easy.

Saturday’s game starts at Noon MT and can be seen on the CBS Sports Network.
